Academic studies in visual communication continue to provide Ludger with solid conceptual tools that continue to inform his visual art work. Independant studies in the performing arts like singing and dancing ground him in body movement as immediate, physical languages for human expression. Painting as a medium suggests movement as a narrative, jumping board into stories and series of paintings (like storyboards) The human body, face, mask as a symbol for the human condition and its movement in different roles and conditions) Drawing and Painting have been Ludger’s preferred languages because they seemed to be the most physical and personal for him because of its direct connection between the body/ movement and the canvas/ paper.
