Keep the Yin and Yang flowing . . . between heaven and earth . . . day and night . . .

Ancient Taoist philosophy describes life’s energy as Yin and Yang. The Yin being the female, internal, passive, emotional side and Yang being the male, external, active, rational side. Yin being earth and soil, Yang being heaven and sun.

Life exists of endless polarities like these. The one can’t exist without the other. There is no “night“ without “day“, there is no “inside“ without “outside“, there is no “negative“ without “positive“. These relationships are not separate but connected with each other and part of a whole.

The polarity between Yin and Yang is one of constant transformation, always in motion. („The mind is dreaming, the body is breathing, the cells dividing”) The small dot of the Yin in the Yang and the small dot of the Yang in the Yin. They are like seeds. Ready to grow and transform from the unseen into the visible. („The planted seed in the earth is the Yang in the Yin, the unseen.”)

Using Qi Gong (a system of movements and exercises to optimize energy within body, mind, soul, with the goal of improving and maintaining health and well-being) one can transform one kind of energy into another. Stress, tension, anxiety can be transformed into something that feels harmonious. Yin will change into Yang and Yang into Yin.
Qi Gong is a practise to master the transformation of energies. Inside is Yin, outside is Yang. By creating harmony in the inside you create harmony in the outside. The interaction, endless circulation between Yin and Yang is a central concept to reach harmony in the universe and life.

„Negative emotions are the compost in the garden to put on the earth for growing plants and fruits. Negative energy is not going away, is is used for transformation into something useful. When we feel sad or angry is fertile soil for compassion and kindness. Where do you put your energy? Take the compost into the garden for growth and bring the harvest, food inside. When we have the right energies in the right places we feel good. In the wrong places we feel bad, diverse, unsettled. When we feel negative energies bring the energy somewhere else. We often try to transform energy externally. We try to change things externally. The QiGong practice tries to work with energy internally”

Internal practice can be physical or mental. First inside, the outside will follow. The internal energies is where your power lies.

“Invest TIME, ATTENTION and FOCUS on the inside (Yin side), don’t try to control the Yang side.. Focus on the beautiful garden inside. Internal work first and then we start building external balance.

“Life is wholeness not separation”

„Nature is you, it is your extended body”

“Nature is always trying to stay imbalance like birds/ worms, lions/ gazelles, bees/ flowers.“

You are either in a Yin state or a Yang state. When you have a lot of energy it is Yang. When you are depressed it is Yin. It always depends on the context and is never static, always moving.

Essential is there is an interconnectedness between Yin and Yang. When you put
your attention on positive things your body starts to shift. “We have to ride the currents of change” When we put our attention on something unseen in the earth, maybe something positive will come out of it.
